Lloyd Brushett
Lloyd Brushett was born in Toronto, Canada in 1928, and moved to California in 1954. He has been in the Coachella Valley since 1994. Lloyd spent all of his life in the grocery business, from grocery clerk to manager to eventual store owner. For ten of those years he acted as a food broker for Bateman Brokerage, servicing a myriad of grocers, from the major chains as well as independents.
For eleven years he was with Foster Enterprises, serving as an egg sales manager, calling on Smart & Final, certified grocers, independents and major chains. He retired in 2001. He and his wife Louise have two sons. Together Lloyd and Louise volunteer for many different organizations; among which are: Little League and other youth groups, Jaycees, Stroke Recovery Center, Mizell Senior Center, West Valley Interfaith Association, Desert Regional Medical Center, Hanson House, Innerfaith Ministries Worldwide, and more. Lloyd has been on the Board of the Well in the Desert for four years.
Lloyd is an ordained Minister with Unity Church. He was President of Toastmasters, La Canada for six years. Lloyd is a man of deep conviction and compassion. The Well in the Desert is grateful to Lloyd for all that he does and all the people he has helped over the years. |
