Winning Hearts and Minds
Our Speaker’s Bureau, which has led many of you to read this newsletter, is a critical part of our community interface program. It not only provides an accurate picture of who we are and what we do, but it has helped win support from many who held perceptions which were, at the very least, unfounded.
Our presentation is given by a Board Member and a representative of the Well. We will tell you all about our daily hot meal program, our casework support, our help for those going back to work, those finding new housing and getting off the streets, and our weekly food distribution program that provides groceries to families who are challenged to make choices between medical care, rent, and food! Our assistance to them helps more than 1,000 people a month. Our 15 minute presentation has resulted in tears and support in many forms.
During an open ended question and answer session, members of your organization will be able to ask questions and receive answers. Some of you will be may find yourselves becoming Well in the Desert Volunteers.
We have spoken before a homeowners group, the Stroke Recovery Center, the Mizell Senior Center, the Shriner’s, Rotary, the Fireman’s Association, with more to come. Please consider inviting us to meet with you.
Schedule a Well in the Desert Speaker’s Bureau presentation for your group by contacting Board Member Vic Gainer Telephone 760) 321-9331 or (760) 219-7216.
