Marcia Meyers Stein
Marcia was an educator in Palm Springs. She had a counseling program for the bottom 1% at Raymond Cree Middle School and worked with Tahleb McMicheaux. Marcia holds her Masters in Counseling as well as a Pupil Personnel Credential and her Administrative credentials. She was a counselor, Principal and teacher for 30 years. Marcia also was the Director for Lyceum of the Desert, a program for the Gifted and Talented.
Marcia was on the Board of Big Brothers and Sisters for 7 years and President for two and has been a Big Sister for 4 years. She is the Chair for the Anti Defamation League, a human rights organization for the past nine years. She teaches in the World Of Difference program in the schools for the ADL. This program gives students an understanding and appreciation of diversity as well as the skills to deal with hate and bigotry. Marcia is on the executive board for the Jewish Federation Women/s Division and served for three years as Campaign Chair and is currently the President elect.
Marcia is a docent at the Living Desert and does animal handling and outreach in the schools for the Living Desert. Marcia is a Muse for the McCallum Theater. She also trained by the Red Cross to respond to disasters.
Marcia is married to Rick Stein a 37 year lawyer who is a partner in Stein Whittington Daniel, an Investment firm on El Paseo in Palm Desert. They have two daughters and three grand children. |
